Ann Arbor Mudpuppies Announce Inaugural Season Details
On Friday, MLive.com's Ryan Zuke broke the news about the Mudpuppies arrival as Ann Arbor's newest sports team. As a semi-pro futsal team comprised of former pros, aspiring professionals and developmental players, the Ann Arbor Mudpuppies will compete in the North American Premier Futsal League (NAPFL). The opening match set for December 9th against Grand Rapids ABK Futsal, and will be hosted at Saline High School as part of the Chocolate Milk Futsal Cup youth tournament taking place that weekend in Ann Arbor and Saline.
The 4 home games will be played at Arbor Prep High School in Ypsilanti, MI (with exception of the first match) as the 5 teams will battle for the league's first Championship.
Co-founder Drew "Ducks" Ducker will not only be taking the reigns as Head Coach but will also be contributing as a player bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience from his time with the US National Futsal Team.
"This is something I've always wanted to do. Between connecting with the right people, having the right players available, and timing of the league, it was an opportunity I could not pass up. We are excited to kick things off December 9th," said Ducks.
